I have been working some crazy days around here. Some mornings I leave the house at 8 a.m. and don’t get back until around midnight. So is the beauty of working in television.
With little free time on my hand, I haven’t been grocery shopping as often as I normally would. Honestly- I normally grocery shop every day. I like to buy per meal and eat what I crave. But with little time to spare, I’m forced to get creative.
This beautiful smoothie came out of using whatever I had on hand, wanting to make something delicious that would get me through a long morning.
I had some melon in the fridge that I was dying to use before it went bad. I also had a browning banana, strawberries in the freezer, and some strawberry protein powder I’d picked up during my trip to Miami.
As you can probably guess, I blended them all together, added some ice to thicken them up, added some chia seeds to help my digestive system through a long day, and was happily surprised by this delicious breakfast on a hot summer morning!
