Hello there! We are Lori and Michelle and we blog over at pure2raw. We are honored to be part of the smoothie month because we love our smoothies!
We are excited to share with you today a smoothie recipe that we have been enjoying lately. Since figs are in season we take full advantage and eat them daily. We love freezing our fresh figs and putting them into smoothies. It really helps provide creamy texture to the smoothie. Perfect for a hot summer day!
For this smoothie we combined some of our favorites like basil and fresh ginger. Please feel free to add in any favorite spices or herbs you like.
- 2 cups water
- about 1½ cups (13oz) fresh frozen figs
- ⅓ cup lightly packed fresh basil
- ¼ cup hemp seeds
- 1 tbsp (about 1 inch) fresh ginger
- Blend all ingredients until smooth
- Add more or less water depending on the thickness you like your smoothies
We love our fig based smoothies. They are so sweet and delicious in smoothies! This smoothie is creamy, simple, filled with nutrition, and perfect for sipping on after a sweaty workout or on a hot day. Enjoy!
